The Importance of News to Forex Traders

In this era where information can be an extremely powerful and strategic asset, whether to individuals or corporations, and information equals money, especially for a trader, shutting yourself off from news can be suicidal. The Forex market is extremely sensitive to the flow of news that is related to it, and major short-term currency moves are almost always preceded by changes in fundamental views influenced by the news. Traders around the world make a living by processing and translating information into money. Financial news services providers know how important news is to the Forex market players, and charge a premium for it. It is not uncommon to get hundreds of headlines of news that are potentially relevant to Forex trading from any news service provider on an average trading day.

Traders, especially those who day trade the Forex market, require the latest up-to-the-second news updates so as to facilitate their trading decisions which have to be made at lightning speed. They mostly make use of online financial newswire services such as Dow Jones Newswires, Bloomberg and Reuters, which display the latest financial news on their computer monitors. Since the speed of news dissemination is very important to traders, many opt for these online instant news services rather than depending on daily newspapers like the Wall Street Journal or the Financial Times which carry stale news that is of little use to traders.

The main reason why news is so important to Forex trading is that each new piece of information can potentially alter the trader’s perceptions of the current and/or future situation relating to the outlook of certain currency pairs. When people’s opinions or beliefs are changed, they tend to act on these changed perceptions through buying or selling actions in the Forex market. Based on the news, these traders will be preparing to cover their existing positions or to initiate new positions. A trader’s action is based on the expectation that there will be a follow-through in prices when other traders see and interpret the same news in a similar way that he or she has, and adopt the same directional bias as the trader as a result.

News is a very important catalyst of short-term price movements because of the expected impact it has on other market players, and this is in a way an anticipatory reaction on the part of the trader as he or she assumes that other traders will be affected by the news as well.

If the news Nyheter happens to be bullish, say for the US dollar, traders who react the fastest will be among the first to buy the US dollar, followed soon by other traders who may react slower to the news or are waiting for certain technical criteria to be met before jumping onto the bandwagon. And there will be those who join in the buying frenzy at a later stage when they get hold of the delayed news in the morning newspapers or from their brokers. This progressive entry of US dollar bulls over a period of time is what sustains the upward move of the US dollar against another currency, with the USD exchange rate going higher against other currencies. The reverse is true for bearish news, traders will sell because they know that others will soon be selling, thus pushing the USD exchange rate down. This is based on the assumption that since other traders will be getting the same pieces of news, they will be also tend to be affected the same way.

Publicly released news is disseminated to the various newswires. Any trader with access to these wires can tap into the information given out, and react accordingly in the Forex market. However, institutional players do get information that retail traders don’t, as they get privy access to order book information in their computer systems, and may also know something that others don’t through their personal contacts in the industry.

Yoga For Happiness and the Law of Karma

Yoga is a gateway to happiness. Through a proactive lifestyle, anyone can be happy at the worst of times, because internal happiness is a choice. If you talk to a survivor of a war, holocaust, or natural disaster, about his or her experiences, each one of them will admit they had to tap into their proactive will to survive.

Yet, within Yoga, there is an underlying belief that we should wait for life to do something to us, and then we should react to it. Some teachers will state that we should wait for the results of life’s actions, which produce situations that may be either good or bad.

It is easy to forget that Karma means “action.” We can wait for life to happen to us or we can embrace each day – whether it is good or not. In fact, we do not have to wait for a “bad day” to look for solutions to problems. Sometimes, the need for a solution is obvious.

How many people died in automobile Sveriges lagar accidents before seat belts and air bags were required as standard equipment? Unfortunately, far too many car accidents happened without the standard of safety equipment we see today.

It is worth noting that Nils Bohlin, a Swedish inventor, created the contemporary “three point” seat belt, which is now standard equipment. His invention was not the first seat belt, but he modified the concept, improved it, and saved more lives.

How can we apply this to Karma Yoga? Do not wait for life to come to you. Life is just not long enough to wait for solutions to “fall in your lap.” Another lesson we can learn from the example of Nils Bohlin, is that you can build and improve on the existing solutions of past innovators.

When you reflect back on your life, do you regret inaction? Most of us feel the same way, but our lives are not over. We still have time to “make” good changes happen. If you feel happiness from within, you should share it with those who will appreciate it. Spread the wealth of loving kindness and happiness when it is possible; especially, when good feelings are flowing throughout your inner-being.

Do not wait for someone else to show the first act of loving kindness. If you show acts of kindness, happiness will follow you wherever you go. For every action you take, there is always an equal reaction, which comes back to you.

You may ask for nothing in return for acts of loving kindness, but the Law of Karma will always bear fruit. Everyone deserves happiness. If you find yourself in the middle of a surplus, make sure you are always generous.

Managers spend approximately one month each year just looking for or waiting on any misfiled, mislabeled or untracked information. On the other hand, productivity is grossly affected when office workers waste up to at least two hours each day searching for the misplaced paperwork.

Leisure With Measure in Retirement – The Paradox

While some individuals will consume their lives with leisure activities, other maturing adults fail to see that leisure is a valuable human endeavour at all. Either extreme is unhealthy.

We all need to recognize our personal leisure needs and act on them if we hope to achieve maximal health and wellness in our retirement years. When we depreciate our leisure needs we discount our own sense of self. When we depreciate our leisure needs, we lose sight of our true nature and risk falling prey to the attitude that we live to work; that our worth rests in our work alone.

Such an attitude can derail the direction and momentum of any retirement. Leisure reminds us that our sole purpose in life is not simply to do but to be. When we recognize fully that we are first and foremost a human being; when we gradually come to appreciate our essential self, we can begin to move away from a definition of ourselves as an achievement/production machine, and move closer toward a more balanced, and accurate definition of self.

As we transform ourselves away from work as the chief definer of our life, we can come to see our leisure interests and pursuits as part of our life journey. In this sense, leisure helps build in us a sense of wholeness, because we grow to realize that our inner nature is the cohesive and binding force in our lives; that force which gives integrity to our world and balance to our lives.

When the challenge of leisure is not resolved in our maturing years, we face some dismal consequences. We find it almost impossible to reflect on the true meaning of living. Our life degenerates into a shallow routine mechanism for doing things and performing tasks. We find it difficult to truly appreciate the beauty and the loveliness of the present moment.

Leisure is not hobbies! First, retirees Fritid och Hobby may have no work. Second, many retirees may believe that the purpose of retirement is for living a life completely full of diversions, leisure, and hobbies. How can one live a leisure lifestyle without hobbies? This appears to be a grand contradiction in terms. Indeed, here is the paradox: we cannot have true hobbies at all without first discovering our central life purpose, other than our hobbies. Hobbies must always take a secondary position in our life, there must always be some type of work, or what we could call “life cause” activities in our lives to fully appreciate, enjoy, and gain from their hobbies pursuits.

When hobbies become your full-time endeavour, then your hobby becomes your work; it ceases to be your hobby. When this happens, the power of the hobby to provide rejuvenation, stimulation and enrichment is lost. The paradox of hobbies is that in order to enjoy hobbies you must have some type of work in your life, some type of activity from which hobbies can be a diversion.

Hobbies lose their interest when they take the full time centre stage position in your life. Like a vacation spot loses some of its interest when you make it your permanent home because it is no longer an escape or a diversion from your everyday world. So too, the same hobbies that formerly gave pleasure cease to provide the same refreshment, stimulation, and enrichment when hobbies becomes your full time pursuit.

Facebook Favors Local News and It Will Help Your Nonprofit

This year has not been too kind to Facebook, with the news about Cambridge Analytica and Mark Zuckerberg being asked to testify in front of Congress. Zuckerberg and his team used it as an opportunity to change the Facebook algorithms, again, and this can still bode well for your nonprofit if you’re smart about it.

The big news was that Facebook decided to focus on local news and events. Alex Hardiman and Campbell Brown of Facebook announced, “Now, people around the world will see more news on Facebook from local sources covering their current city and other cities they may care about.”

The reason this was done was that after the disastrous press and scrutiny they received about user data and privacy, the focus on more local news content for their users was viewed as a smarter approach to ensure their AI could better root out low quality and “fake news” content. Whether this, in fact, occurs remains to be seen. However, it’s a change that can benefit nonprofits if they are savvy enough to make news in their local areas.

Additionally, there was also a change in Facebook’s algorithms that Zuckerberg announced in the first month of 2018 stating that the social media giant was going to get back to basics. It was going to prioritize posts from friends and family as opposed to brands. Initially, this announcement sent shudders in brands, until they figured out how to go about capitalizing on the changes. You too can do the same thing for your nonprofit organization.

How to Make Facebook Work for You

We know that through the years Facebook has been tweaking its algorithms to make organic reach harder to come by for brands. In the good old days, your brand was able to have a high-level of organic reach about the work of your nonprofit. Today, organic reach is in the low single percentile digit and declining, and some experts argue that Facebook and other platforms will continue to have their AI throttle any organic reach to zero, which will then force every brand to “pay to play.”

  • 85 percent of videos on Nyheter och media Facebook are viewed with the sound turned off. When you’re creating video content, keep that in mind. How can you leave an impression visually?
  • Make content that is specific to Facebook using best practice for getting engagement. For Facebook, it means keeping it short and sweet on the copy, using videos or great photographic images and if you’re using a hashtag, using no more than one. This isn’t Instagram!
  • Be smart about getting on people’s newsfeed. If you have essential value-add information that people might want to see, it’s probably worth paying for it to get onto people’s newsfeeds. You have the opportunity to sponsor posts and place ads, so be prepared to spend money, but do it wisely and plan it out as much as possible, so you receive the biggest bang for the buck.
  • If you have more news about your organization, including new staff, location moves, successful completion of fundraisers, create a press release and pitch the news to local media. Remember, Facebook is prioritizing local news and if you have a chance to get featured in a news media story that’s a great way to get people to learn about your news!
  • When you’re creating video content, figure out ways to tell a story. When you’re conveying a story or narrative about your organization, you are increasing the opportunity for people to want to see it. 80 percent of decision-making begins with emotion followed by rationalization.
  • Most nonprofits have a great story and if they can translate it into a live video that’s even better. Mark Zuckerberg stated plainly that brands, “should encourage meaningful interactions between people… We’ve seen people interact way more around live videos than regular ones.”
  • Leverage Facebook with other platforms. For instance, if you’ve seen in your Facebook analytics that your videos and live streams are having a high level of engagement, don’t remain only on Facebook. Consider sharing that kind of content on Instagram as well.

Picking Stitches in Needlepoint

Whenever you buy a painted canvas or when you design your own needlepoint, you will need to pick stitches for it. Here are some simple rules for deciding what stitch should go where.

Tent Stitch in Needlepoint
Every canvas, no matter how big or small, should have some areas of tent stitch (basketweave). Think of this as “neutral texture.” By having some tent stitch, the eye gets a place to rest. Without some tent stitch, the canvas will look way too busy and can be difficult to read. Areas which almost always need to be worked in basketweave include areas which have lots of detail (like faces) areas which are very narrow (like these Chinese characters), and areas with shading.

There are also many small stitches which are the same size as Tent Stitch but which add some texture. Some of these are Needlepoint Cross Stitch (great for eyes), Skip Tent, T Stitch, and Dotted Swiss.

In needlepoint, Tent Stitch i considered a neutral texture. I think of it like zero on a number line. Many stitches , like Cashmere Stitch for example, are either bigger or higher Tent Stitch. These are the positive numbers and will make areas stitched with them stand out. Other stitches, like Blackwork or Darning Patterns, use thinner threads or have more open space. These are the negative number and will always look lower and lighter than Tent Stitch

Does It Work?
Sometimes your choice of stitch is determined by what the design is showing. For example, if you were needlepointing a cat, you probably would not want to use a strong geometric stitch for the cat’s fur (although it might be a very cool background). But if you were stitching a brick wall that kind of stitch might be just the ticket.

The scale of the stitch is also important, it must work with the scale of the area on the canvas. Any stitch you use should be repeated at least three times in all directions, if it does not this stitch is too big for the area. Pick a smaller one. The bigger the scale of the stitch, the more attention it draws to itself. For example if you were stitching a sunflower, you might want to emphasize the petals or the center. If you wanted to emphasize the center, that’s where you would put the larger stitch. The larger the pattern, the more your eye will be drawn to it.

Sometimes the combination of Needlepoint thread and canvas mesh rules out some kinds of stitches. The thread/stitch combination might be difficult to work as is. In those cases you might want to thin out the threads by using one fewer plies. Or you might want to pick another stitch. If the coverage in this combination looks too thin, thicken the thread by adding another strand or adding a strand of crewel wool or embroidery floss in a matching color to your base thread. Usually these additions don’t stand out, but just make the needlepoint look better.

Try Before Deciding
The best method for checking out a stitch is to try it. Work a bit on a spare piece canvas, make a sample for your stitch notebook, or try a little bit of the stitch on the edges of the canvas. If it doesn’t look right, frog stitch (rip-it-,rip-it). I’ve sometimes done this with entire stitched areas and sometimes I’ve worked the same area several times before I find something which is perfect.

Ultimately, your best judge will be your eye. I have seen canvases which break these rules, which are wonderful. I have also seen canvases which broke these rules and created messes.

But always remember that it’s your needlepoint and your vision. If you like it, and it is fun to stitch, then it is right!

Janet M. Perry is one of the leading writers of needlepoint stitch guides in the world. She writes innovative guides for needlepoint canvases from over 20 designers. She puts into practice her motto to make needlepoint fast, fun and affordable.

She is an expert in needlepoint, both on the Web and through her writing as the Needlepoint Pro for Cross-Stitch & Needlework magazine. She works with deigners, shops, and thread manufacturers on new products and regularly reports on trends in needlepoint.

Small Business Owners, I Have Bad News For You

This article is intended to all small business owners in the world, begging you to open your eyes the big problem that we’re facing. It’s not a secret that 60-80% of all new jobs come from small business, however the majority of these business tend to disappear due to bad administration.

And let me tell you where the bad administration starts…

It all starts when the company creates it’s logo; I know this might seem strange but the fact is that 80% of all current small business owners didn’t put enough effort when they were going through the design process.

But why does it matter?

The answer is simple, any Nyhetshuset company’s logo is part of a vital process called BRANDING. Since your logo says it all, you must put a considerable amount of time and hard work into the logo design process. Always remember that you’re building your brand, you are creating an image around any given product or service and your potential customer won’t connect with it if they see a week logo.

That’s why it’s so important to look for a professional logo design agency to take care of your image, as I always say, leave it to the professionals. But now that we’ve identified the root problem, let’s talk about the solution.

The First 2 and most important things to think about are: the product or service you’re selling and the theme of your business, when you have those ideas clear then you will find it easy to design an eye-catching logo for your business. While creating your business logo, pay close attention to the business name and don’t even think about omitting the name from the logo. That would be detrimental for your brand’s image, since it’s a new company out in the marketplace, and without a visible name consumers won’t associate themselves with your brand. However, most of the huge companies opt to omit the business name from the logo because they are already well known.

A logo design might seem a small piece of the puzzle, but it plays a big role in the branding success formula. Trust me, I’ve seen so many great business ideas and established companies failed because consumers prefer their competitors image, and I’m sure you don’t want that for your company and that’s not what i want for you either.
